So this story was on CNN the other day, just thought I'd weigh in as a person of a multiethnic background.
I think the rationale for not performing the marriage ceremony was that interracial children are confused and mistreated. I really don't know what to say about it other than I am extremely pissed about this and if you see me in the next few days I may be in a state requiring lengthy rants about racism. Fair warning.

Ugh. This never seems to die out. Also, have you had the wonderful opportunity of taking one of those demographics surveys where they list the following options:
ReplyDelete-White (not of Hispanic origin)
-Hispanic
-Two or more races (not of Hispanic origin)
Gee whiz, Mr. Survey, thanks for the existential crisis.
oh yeah, I just love those things, especially the ones that leave off the multiple race option, definitely seen a few of those. Never really certain how to mark them, or even if I should.
